The Union of Post Office Workers was formed in 1919 as a result of the amalgamation of the Postmen's Federation, the Postal and Telegraph Clerks' Association , the Fawcett Association and a number of smaller unions. In 1980 it changed its name to the Union of Communications Worker. In January 1995 it merged with the National Communications Union to form the Communication Workers Union |
