DescriptionThese records relate to property in Hammersmith Road (formerly known as King Street), Hammersmith, occupied by Catholic nuns of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM) from 1669 to 1795. From 1795 to 1863 the convent was occupied by Benedictine nuns - see DD/828 for records relating to this period. After a time as a seminary, in 1893 the premises became the Convent of the Sacred Heart, which still occupies the site
