TitleIllustrations of Fulham Old and New by Charles James Fèret
DescriptionIn order to illustrate his book Fèret collected a large number of prints, maps, photographs and documents. In 1901 he offered the material for sale to Fulham Public Library. The Libraries Committee did not take up this offer and the collection was bought for 100 guineas by William Hayes Fisher, Member of Parliament for Fulham, who then donated it to the library.

The illustrations are mounted on thick paper with a manuscript description, Volume and page numbers, some added after the date of publication. Not all the notes are in Fèret's handwriting. Some of the illustrations and photographs were not included in the final publication and this has been noted in the list. A distinction has been made between an original item and a halftone print.

The original documents and some of the prints were transferred subsequently to the Archives and Illustrations collections and this has been noted. In some cases only a halftone or the mount remains.

The oversize illustrations were removed from their place in the original sequence for storage purposes by the library and this arrangement has been retained in the list.
