Description | Nineteenth century copy of letter, dated 25 February 1852, from J[ohn] W[ilson] Croker, West Molesey to Bishop of London
Regrets that serious illness has prevented him from paying personal respects following their meeting at 'Wimpole'. Is amusing self with various literary triflings, including history of Lord Peterborough. Requests bishop to ask vicar for information, probably from rate books, concerning dates at which Lord Peterborough came to live at Parsons Green and placed 'Mrs Robinson and her daughter' in a nearby house. States that Mrs Robinson's younger sister was grandmother of own late friend, Charles Arbuthnot. Refers to career of new Post Master |
