Apologises for delay in acknowledging gift. Has read the poem and found nice touches in it but finds the failure to rhyme when a poem is not in blank verse is lazy. Also finds good points in the story but feels the author could now do better. Has not yet read all the shorter poems but will bring them next time he comes. Expects to be abroad for the winter but plans are uncertain because of his daughter's health |
