Thanks her for the parcel; is delighted with Samuel's present which, with care, should last his lifetime as he is now in his 77th year. Is pleased that Samuel is getting on well in his business; hopes Hannah gets on well at school. Looks forward to seeing them in the summer; the railroad should be opened in May with a station at Bexhill, though it may not be completed in time. His lameness is no better and the leg is contracting. James and family are well. They have had no letter from Philly but Richard had one from his brother; fears that they must be offended.
